WAKO GB 30th Anniversay Awards Evening and Gala Dinner

WAKO GB 30th Anniversay Awards Evening and Gala Dinner

Our very own Senior instructor Chris Collymore was invited to attend the W.A.K.O (World Association of Kickboxing Organisations) GB Awards Evening & Gala dinner to celebrate 30 years of the association in Great Britain and the achievements of current and past competitors at international championships around the world.

This momentous occasion took place at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre in Shropshire and over 200 people attended.

There were some great demonstrations on the night and the awards ceremony was first class.

Chris picked up three honours on the evening; his first award was for all of his hard work and commitment working with the association as a coach for the Cadet and Junior GB squad.

His second award was for his fighting achievements over the last 20+ years competing in the squared circle.  This award included his most recent achievement of being crowned W.A.K.O World Champion when he won this title in Dublin back in November 2015 where there were 65 countries in attendance and over 790 competitors.

Finally yet importantly, Chris received another award, which rounded off the evening where he was awarded with his 5th Dan in Kickboxing.  A well-deserved accolade for someone who puts in as much training, support and guidance into others whenever he can as he wants to give back as much as he has gained from the sport of Kickboxing.
