Values and Skills

A lot of people think martial arts is just fighting. This is a common misconception. It can help to instil values and skills that children can use in their everyday life.

Martial arts training for children can help to strengthen the mind and body and have a number of other benefits. It can help to improve:

  • Self-esteem
  • Self-discipline
  • Confidence
  • Courtesy
  • Concentration
  • Respect

The mental focus and the discipline required in the training spills over into everyday life. The ability to listen, school performance and study habits can start to improve after a short time of training.

Training

Good training habits will be developed from the start and children will quickly get use to the physical and mental training. These structured and progressive training techniques will also help to improve:

  • Self-defence
  • Health and Fitness levels
  • Flexibility and Mobility
  • Balance
  • Co-ordination
  • Weight Control

Children learn and develop at their own rate and the discipline training sessions are designed to allow for this. Due to the benefits of Martial Arts training, children will usually excel at other individual and team sports.

The sessions are fun and a good learning experience and will teach the children valuable life skills.
